Veteran health, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), is increasingly in the news, yet many of us have an incomplete understanding of these mental health issues and the services available to those who serve our country. Dr. Marsden McGuire (’78), a geriatric psychiatrist who helps lead the VA’s Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention and holds academic appointments at the Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland Schools of Medicine, will discuss our veteran mental health system and the challenges facing those who serve our country – and those who care for them.
