This past Saturday, May 11th, four Yale alumni and one alumni daughter – Jeff Gray, Rene Parent (a veteran of the legendary 2018 tree-planting DoS beside Herring Run), Lisa Spadone, Shannon Marshall, and her daughter Eleanor – turned out to assist the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) in planting a mixed collection of trees – oaks, sycamores, maples, dogwoods, and redbuds, among others – along a now-retired jumping run at Tranquility Manor Farms, a few miles northeast of Jacksonville in Baltimore County. Working briskly with the assistance of Team Leader Matthew from GVC, our group planted at least 26 trees in a three-hour session – proving that even small numbers can make a big difference. Boola boola!
