Join Paul Moscatt (Yale School of Art, BFA, MFA ’63) for a tour of his studio in the Cork Factory, located in the Station North Area of Baltimore. Paul was on the faculty of MICA from 1966-2000, including two terms as the Chair of the Painting Department.

Paul will give a short talk about the Yale School of Art of the early 60’s.  He will then give an informal tour of his work as we walk through his large three-room loft studio.  The 60’s were a vital time in the Yale School of Art.  Paul attended the 1961 Yale Norfolk Summer School of Music and Art with fellow students Chuck Close, Brice Marden and Vija Clemens among others.  From 1960 to 1964, those artists plus sculptor Dick Serra, Nancy Graves, Bob Mangold, Janet Fish and Rackstraw Downes attended Yale School of Art and subsequently made a lasting mark on the NY gallery scene.

An exhibition of Paul’s larger works will be available for viewing in the Gray Matter Gallery located on the 1st floor of the Cork Factory.

Refreshments will be served and there will be strategic though primitive seating for the pre-millennials.

Location: Cork Factory, 1601 N Guilford Avenue.  WHILE THE STUDIO IS AT THE CORK FACTORY (1601 N. GUILFORD AVENUE) PLEASE USE THE ENTRANCE AT 302 E. FEDERAL STREET AND RING BELL #7 (MOSCATT).  TAKE THE ELEVATOR TO THE STUDIO ON THE 3RD FLOOR.

Parking: Street parking as well as a small lot adjacent to the building.
