Atoms for Peace: A Tour of the NS Savannah
Posted by Yale Alumni Association of Maryland on Aug 20, 2024 in Blog,News
On Saturday, August 18th, 30 Yalies gathered to tour the NS Savannah, one of the last remaining pieces of evidence of President Eisenhower’s Atoms for Peace project. This project sought to show people that nuclear power could be used for more than war. As a result, the beautiful NS Savannah toured the world and gave people a chance to get up close and personal with peaceful applications of nuclear technology. We were some of the latest people to benefit from these efforts. A huge thank you to the NS Savannah staff and volunteers who made this tour possible, and to all of you for joining us!
