BLISS MEADOWS (Baltimore Living in Sustained Simplicity) is a 10 acre land reclamation project in Northeast Baltimore’s Frankford neighborhood. Founded by Atiya Wells and operated by Backyard Basecamp, it combines urban farming, nature education, and green space restoration to reconnect local residents – specifically Black, Indigenous, and people of color – with nature.
Date: Saturday, May 16, 2026.
Time: 8:30 am – 12:00 pm.Please arrive by 8:15 am to sign in. This event is rain or shine.
Location: 5111 Plainfield Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21206, United States
What: Saturday morning yard work at Bliss Meadows with activities like planting seedlings in the meadow, adding mulch to the orchard, and resetting the front pollinator garden. Bliss meadows is the only urban farm and forest center in Baltimore City.
Bring: Please wear appropriate clothing for yard work–Boots, pants, a long sleeve shirt, hat, gloves, and rain gear if bad weather is forecast. Each volunteer should bring their own personal water bottle labeled with their name.

Please feel free to bring your family members (ages 11 and over) to this event. We have space for 25 individuals.
